About Us
Hoke and Sarah founded Brooks & Tenn in 2021 after years of family and friends urging them to start a business bringing their backgrounds in construction and design together. Combining forces, they have formed a cohesive company focused around the work that they love and providing a service and product to better the lives of their wonderful clients and make their vision a reality. Brooks & Tenn is lovingly named after their two oldest children (a wild little dude who has a love of trucks just like his dad and a sweet little lady who has a creative side just like her mom). They found out that they were expecting another baby shortly after they established Brooks & Tenn, and have promised this adorable little guy that someday they will start another business venture and name it after him (can’t leave him out, right?!). They have since added one more lovely little lady to complete their crew of four children and one very large dog! Their children are the driving force behind all that they do, and provide them with continual motivation to do more and be better not only in their work, but in their personal lives as well.
Meet Hoke
Hoke is a Denver native with over 12 years of experience in the construction industry in both the residential and commercial realms. The span of his residential experience ranges from single room redesigns, remodels, additions, “pop-tops” and ADU’s to ground-up new construction; His commercial experience encompasses numerous large-scale projects spanning many of Denver’s neighborhoods and surrounding cities. Hoke co-founded Brooks & Tenn in 2021 with his wife, Sarah, with a goal of combining their passions for their respective industries.
Hoke is passionate about upholding Colorado’s history and various neighborhood styles, utilizing existing structures and elements to achieve their best potential while staying true to their origins. He strives to deliver a product that not only meets, but exceeds the goals and expectations of his clients.
His background in general contracting and building, specializing in adaptive re-use renovations, ground-up construction and remodeling combined with his experience working with city planning and development, years of estimating and background in finance and entrepreneurial studies has given him the ability to stay a step ahead in all aspects of a project.
Meet Sarah
Sarah is also a Denver native who has been passionate about interior design since she was a little girl- always repainting and rearranging her room; Daydreaming about furniture and reimagining interior spaces! She began her career at the Denver Merchandise Mart as an established partner with home furnishing, accessory, art and lighting vendors in the wholesale realm. She continued her career in design working for a custom home builder, and went on to pursue visual merchandising for a major retailer on a national level. In 2021 she co-founded Brooks & Tenn with her husband, Hoke, with a vision of creating inspired spaces that make a house feel truly like a home and a sanctuary using organic elements and playing with patterns, colors and textures.
Sarah is always driven by creativity and is invested in maintaining the integrity and history of the homes that she has the opportunity to design. She set out her journey with interior design with the intention of creating spaces that encourage people to more deeply connect with their homes, lives and families.
She believes that home is the foundation for life and loves working with clients to design a home that reflects who they are and what brings them joy. Sarah brings an unwavering entrepreneurial spirit to Brooks & Tenn, allowing the business to accelerate its growth through creativity and hard work. She truly loves what she does, and brings an enthusiasm to all of her projects, large and small.
